Oxygen Tank Regulators
There are 2 types of regulators offered:
- Continuous Flow
- Conserving
Continuous Flow Regulators deliver a continuous oxygen flow at a prescribed liter flow per minute.
Conserving Regulators deliver a prescribed liter flow by a "pulse dose" of oxygen at regular intervals. It is activated by the patient's negative inspiratory force, or regular breathing pattern. The patient must breathe through the nose to activate the "pulse dose." Note: Patients with greatly decreased inspiratory effort (severe COPD) are not candidates for conserving regulators. Conserving Regulators must be specifically and sepeartely ordered by the physician.
